Maya & Cortlyn unwrapping their Christmas Eve surprise--slippers and a book.
What a wonderful time of year Christmas is!--My FAVORITE by far. Maya and Cortlyn are SO into it all...The sparkle in their eyes when we've visited Santa, talking to our Elf on the Shelf everyday, looking forward to their Advent calendar treat, helping me wrap presents, numerous viewings of "The Polar Express", etc....If only we could stop time. Having them around, filled with excitement, makes it all so much sweeter. I hope they NEVER lose their enthusiasm for it all.
Christmas Eve, as usual, the girls sprinkled reindeer food in the yard to help Santa and the reindeer find their way to our house and then went inside to get Santa's milk and cookies ready (with a side of carrots for the reindeer)...That took a little longer than planned because they couldn't resist eating some themselves. =) Then, they opened up their Christmas Eve present--new slippers and the book, "The Night Before Christmas". Maya read the book to us (Cortlyn and Bop at her side) before they drifted off to sleep.
Christmas morning was so much fun too--We even had Mimi and Bop with us for a special treat this year. Maya couldn't stand the excitement and made it down the stairs a few seconds before Cortlyn--ecstatic to see that Santa fulfilled her wish for Zhu Zhu Pets! Cortlyn wasn't too far behind and also got her wish for a Sit N Spin and panties. He also brought a few surprises for each of them as well as a joint surprise--their Barbie Vet Center. We went on to open the presents under the tree and last, but not least, even Kicks got some presents--His big bone from Maya and Cortlyn was, by far, his favorite! =)
