Time does fly--It does not seem possible that it has been SEVEN years since Maya made her debut in the world. She will enter the SECOND GRADE this year!!
She continues to bring us so much joy--still such a pleaser and always so sweet, thoughtful, and loving, with a smile that melts our hearts. Some of her loves are reading, writing, drawing/coloring/art, playing with her toys (Barbie, Littlest Pets, Polly Pocket, My Little Ponies, Zhu Zhu Pets, Zoobles, board games, etc), Webkinz, listening to music, playing sports (mostly soccer), and last but definitely not least--animals--especially horses.
So...This year, we decided to have her party at the Sienna Horse Stables. She was thrilled that her favorite horse, Ace, was able to take part in her big day as he was one of the two horses used for riding! With all of Maya's excitement leading up to her party, she had Cortlyn plenty excited as well--She got up on the horse and rode around the arena just like the big girls. =)
Before and after the horse riding, the girls were able to get their faces painted (again, our girls chose their hands), and we wrapped up the party in a horse stall-turned-party room, singing Happy Birthday to the Birthday Girl. No candles on the birthday cake--against the fire code at the horse stables--but no worries. We still sang and everyone enjoyed the cake just the same! =)
Even though it was sure hot (we headed straight to the swimming pool afterwards), it was a great day and Maya enjoyed sharing it with her friends and family.
