After all of our house renovations wrapped up and Mac returned from an unexpected trip to Scotland due to the unfortunate passing of his grandad (who will be missed greatly by all), we managed to get away for some quality family time. Our first stop was San Antonio where we enjoyed a full day at Sea World and its Lost Lagoon Water Park.
We made sure to feed the dolphins right away--top on the list--and then worked our way to the aquariums, penguins, and shows throughout the park--Maya and Cortlyn's favorite shows were definitely Shamu's 'Believe', the sea lion show, and the 'Azul' show featuring dolphins, Beluga whales, acrobats, and even birds. The girls were so excited to get to sit together on the Shamu roller coaster, but it took Cortlyn a few seconds to warm up to it once it took off! =) The water park was lots of fun too--a nice, relaxing way to cool off. Once we had dried off, we were just in time to meet all of the Sea World characters. The girls were so excited to get their pictures taken with each of them! Cortlyn started hamming it up for Shamu on stage and even got him to dance with her for a bit! =)
Despite a forcasted 40% chance of rain, we never got a drop until we walked into our restaurant for dinner outside of our hotel late that night. It couldn't have been more perfect timing. What a GREAT day!
