We woke up bright and early and hit the beach first thing Saturday morning. What an amazing site to see~absolutely beautiful white sand and blue water. To our surprise, there were sting rays swimming right up to the shoreline. It was very cool to see them in their natural environment, but also made us a little hesitant to jump right in and start swimming!
We enjoyed several hours jumping the waves, searching for seashells, building sand castles, feeding the seagulls (They LOVE Cheetos apparently!!), etc. It was so much fun to spend time with Dennis, Connie, Emily, James, Grace, and Julia too! =)
We went back to our condo for lunch and headed right back out to the beach afterwards. Maya searched for more seashells with Mimi and built another sand castle, while Cortlyn found comfort under the shade of the tent and fell asleep!
In the evening, they fished for the first time ever, with the help of Dennis and James. Maya enjoyed reeling the fish in, but didn't really like seeing the fish itself, but Cortlyn couldn't get enough. She sat with Dennis for quite awhile and "helped" him. She even got to see a bird nicknamed Henrietta stop by and eat the fish Dennis would throw for her right off of the dock!
Finally, after dinner, we headed out to the beach once again. Cortlyn didn't realize you can hang out on the beach without taking your clothes off, so she raced to the tent and started taking her clothes off as quickly as possible. To her surprise, there was no swimsuit underneath! =) None-the-less, they had a blast searching for sand crabs with Dennis.
